Traction Control Reduces Mpg?

Strange Smell

A bloke at work said he was advised by his dealer to turn off the traction control on his Corolla T-Sport during motorway journeys, as this improves mpg.

Is there any truth in this, or is it an old dealer's tale?

I've tried it on my T-Sport, but I can't detect any difference.

That sounds like complete rubbish to me

how can the TC be affecting the car at 70 mph? i mean the T-Sport is quick but its not that powerful!

But i stand to be corrected...
