Ep82 Fault Code 31 Help!?

my car seems to have been delimited. but the other day i gave my car a bit of a thrash on the dual carriage way. the problem is i got to 115-120mph (indicated) and it felt like somebody just stamped on the brake suddenly. tried again and it happened again.

tried to go past this speed in low boost and it was fine. tried again in high boost and it went past that speed no problem, but the engine warning light came on and stayed on.

found the code was to do with the map sensor. checked connections and cables ect for shorts and it was all ok. got another map sensor tried it and all was ok, went over that speed no problem. thought id try once more for luck and it hit that strange limit again and the engine management light came on and stayed on again.

only happens in 5th gear at those speeds. thought it was fuel cut but that should be i different fault code.

any ideas? i have reset the ecu btw.
