Weird question i know but the reason i ask is i was clearing out my garage today and i found 3 fuel cans of diesel i filled up 3 months ago to put some fuel in my Hilux whilst it was off the road and never got round to putting it in.

Will it still be ok to use?

I think it's fine, just look at it. If it freezes or goes off you get a layer of wax on top. If it has the wax you just skim the wax off, if not just use it

yes it does have a shelf life. after a while the additives they put in it break down and in your case the Cetane number will alter - may get more, may get worse depends if you left it in the fridge or not!
