Electrical Question

Ok so i've found the duff fuse and replaced it and since then everything seems to be back to normal.

But im still struggling to find the GND PWR & ACC cables :(

My dad suggested i tap a 12v from the ciggarette lighter and gnd onto the gnd of the lighter too.

Anyone think this may be a way forward?

So can someone tell me exactly what the ACC is? I've always thought it was the feed from the key barrel which connects when you flick to ignition?

I guess i 'could' tap that too...

acc = accessories AFAIK

take a live and earth from wherever works , but you may want the live to be switched ( acc ), but then you will lose radio stations all the time .you really need a permanent live plus the switched live.

Be careful tapping from a ciggie lighter, I think these are at about 25 amps and if you run your acc’s from that you might fry something :unsure:

Have you not got an electrical tester?

That way you would be able to find the live, gnd and acc from the back of the headunit.

Some cigar lighters are permently live and some need the ignition switched to acc. What does your cigar lighter do?

Have you got a multimeter or 12V tester? If so finding power, switched power and earth should be easy and its not like you've got loads of wires to check:) If not make a 12V tester by soldering 2 wires onto the terminals of an indicator bulb or something.
