This is what the Yaris looked like when I got back from a four hour drive from Torquay.

Yaris2.JPG

After:

1, I bucket of water to remove the dirt

2, A bucket of Car Wash for a good scrub

3, A bucket of water to rinse the Car Wash off

4, A good Chamoising (I hate the Chamois it feels funny)

5, Then Turtle Waxing with my new applicator

6, then last back to black on all the black trimmings

Which took three hours ;)

Now the Yaris looks so nice, other than the dents and wheels lol

So what do you think?

Also what is your personal way to clean your Yaris.

It's good to hear that I'mnot the only one that has a system, I though I was a bit sad.

Now I know we are all sad :P

Gnome! whats Rain-X Like. I take it, it does a good job

Yeah, I love the stuff - although Metholated spirits does exactly the same, and is cheaper!

I wasn't told that though, till after I'd bought the Rain-X. Lol...

Bucket and water ...... get with the time's folks!

It's pressure washer time ;) !

Blast all the crap off, turn the nob and out comes the 'wash n wax' shampoo

Then just dry it off

All that equals one shiny yaris in 5 minutes ...... although I still can't be ubikd to do it!

Although my car has changed colour from silver to white :( !

Have never used a pressure washer as it uses more water/ blasts grease out if you're not careful (I.e. In the suspension!).

I have a Pressure Washer but as Gnome says it uses way to much water, also takes time to set up.

I scratched the paint works once also with the plastic end.

Does anyone use a electric buffer as i have one of those too, just haven't used it.

my system...

1. Drive into All American Hand Car Wash (having phoned to book full valet).

2. Give the nice man my car.

3. Pour a coffee, light a cigar. Wait 40 minutes.

4. Pay nice man.

5. Drive away.

Lenry - your car looks just like mine - Except mine is currently in the body shop getting the bumpers & mirrors colour coded. :D

My wash routine (not that it's become a routine yet):

Rinse over with a hosepipe

Sponge over with hot water & shampoo/wax thing

Rinse off with hosepipe

Maybe chamois

And I haven't used it yet but I have some nice polish for the next step. I was waiting for the roads to stop being gritted and my bumpers to be done before trying it :)

Big deal if it uses more water, it's not like we're going to run out anytime soon!

Just blast the bodywork with it and be very careful, it's a great start to cleaning becasue it gets all the really minging stuff off before you start to wash it!

My wee routine:

1. Pressure wash it (if I can be bothered getting the hose out)

2. Wash bodywork with Autolgym Car Shampoo using a sponge

3. Rinse bodywork with water

4. Wash alloys using Autoglym Alloy Wheel Cleaner and a sponge

5. Rinse wheels with water

6. Chamois the bodywork with an Autoglym chamois

7. Maybe do the interior if I can be bothered

Mine needs a right good wash soon in preparation for selling it though!

NO no your car looks like mine don't you mean lol :P How much is it going to cost you? I've thought about it but never got a good answer.

I did use it (back to black) on the grey bumpers it works nicely, I didn't do the whole bumper though.

I'm going to clean it on Sunday, the tyre blackening stuff I heard can turn the tyres orange if not use properly.

What products have you guys and gals used?

Also cleaning the engine bay! are there any domestic product that i would find under the kitchen sink they would do a good job of clearing the Oil and grease. What have you tried?

WD40 and a toothbrish, and warm water - Seriously.

Time and patience pays off on that one.

Personally (Every sunday usually):

Hose down.

Sponge over with warm water to get the surface crud off.

Same again but with turtle wax car shampoo.

Rinse off.

Do inside door frames, boot and bonnet edges.

Rinse/wipe off.

Alloy cleaner and brush on the wheels.

Rinse off.

Shammy dry.

[Clay and polish if i can be bothered  ].

Inside windows.

Dash and trim with warm water and a cloth.

Vac seats and floor and mats.

Admire.

Get a burger and a coke.

Cry when the weather turns!

That's my lot!!

I got two quotes, the first was £150 to do both bumpers, the second was around £120 for EACH bumper

I went with the first place, and I'm getting the bumpers done for an extra £30. I'm picking it up tomorrow so I'll try and post a pic over the weekend. :)
