Hi all,

Just wanna see how many of you have purchased the extended warranty after the original 3 years that came with the car, and if so has it been a good investment?

I know that the Rolla is as reliable as anything, but has anyone been glad that they have taken this option out?

Also, if you have taken it out and have claimed, what did you claim for and did the dealers put up any fights on your claims?

Any input would be appreicated.

In years gone by I had extended warranties/Toyota used approved warranty scheme with both my Corollas.

My experiance of them is ...

...BRILLIANT/SUPERB !

Due to the fact they are 'Toyota backed' the dealerships seem only to happy to honour them.

Although naturally they are subject to 'wear and tear' (which I know can mean anything  ) the local dealers are still very amicable and never seem to 'try it on, under the wear'n'tear excuse'.

Although I never had anything major go wrong they never ever quibled over anything little which was nice.

Also I know friends who have also had Toyotas with Toyota extended warranty and have had major fault with car and yet again Toyota dealers have been superb and most helpful.

My advice is DO get it, it's piece of mind AND you know with Toyota it will be 'honoured'.

Well, I have asked the same question before. I think it depends on how good your dealer is from your previous experience. I think if you are fixing a certain part. I think find a specialised garage would be a wiser choice and cheaper as well. Also, you have to judge whether you will use up all that £400 in the year. fitting brake pads by the dealer could be more than £100 but other garages might do it for half the price...

I think all depends on whether you know good garages round your area. Having said all these, I am still thinking of whether the buy the waranty for mine, haha ;)

Cheers,

Kevin
