I saw a corolla the other day with black tail lights, I was told this could be done with a smokey black spray, I was thinkin of doing this but im not sure if it would be road legal? Anyone got any idea if this could be done? Or even better, anyone know where i could buy black tail lights?

you can get pre-tinted clusters... which should be road legal... it all depends on how much light they let thru (similar to tinted windows)

doing it yourself, you're never gonna know if you are legal or not (especially as they won't be kite-marked). buying off the shelf at least you will not if they are legal or not.

i'm sure i saw pre-tinted clusters in Halfords of all places.

ive done it before... using black car paint.

you must have a reflector on the rear of your car by law, so either tape the reflector off before spraying or get a couple of self adhesive reflectors and stick them on.

not sure if your insurance company would pay out if someone went into the back of you though??? not to worry ehh..
