Yaris Rear Valance Repair

:help: Advice require! :help:

Have been tasked with the job of repairing a crumpled rear valance on a friends 2000 model 1.0 Yaris 2 dr.

It was only a low speed knock as it was reversed into a high kerb/low wall so bumper does not appear out of line but has crumpled the rear valance.

My question is:

Is the rear valance, which is below the grey rear plastic bumper and made of metal (this supprised me; I thought a panel like this would be made of plastic these days  ) bolted on?

Also is valance attached to bottom of bumper or will I have to remove bumper to get to mounting bolts etc?

I am perfectly fine to car repairs (usually on 20+ year old stuff  so know to expect problems ;) ) however before I start job I thought it best to check with 'those in the know' so to speak.

Any help or advice greatly received

Friend isn't to bothered about paying genuine prices, so will use a patern part which is cheaper than I expected, as such one example:

I believe it's bolted onto the bottom, so you don't need to remove the whole rear bumper. And the genuine part isn't all that expensive either (about 30 quid I think?)

Hey thanks for that!

Might buy genuine part then, looks like it will be an easy job (also bolts/screw/fixings shouldn't be to rusty to undo due to newness of car  ).

Cheers

Yeh the genuine won't be much more expensive than the other part you had a link to, my rear valance cost me 38 CYP

All of the above plus it's best to replace it rather than attempt a repair. It's a thin bit of tin to be honest! :P

There are a lot of Yari out there with crumpled valances.
