Is This Worth Doing?

i need new pads on the car all round soon, is it worth putting on performance pads but having the standard disks? or would i only feel a difference if i get the disks too (which i am not doing).

logic seems to be the endless pads due to the reviews, anyone got prices for them? i found this set, im guessing this is the one everyone has. im also guessing thats £105 for all 4 pads?

cheers

Jay

If you uprate the pads and your brake fluid to DOT 5.1 (not DOT 5) you should notice an improvement in braking without the need to uprate your disks.

The DOT 5.1 has a higher boiling point than DOT 3/4 and therefore reduces brake fade.

Endless pads are a good make, though have no idea about price for them.

Hope that helped a little.

(from another thread)

rust on the break disks which are a little thinner on the edge than the middle.

If you are going to spend good money on pads i think it would be a waste unless you sort your discs aswell -from what you said in another thread there not the best are they??

Your going to end up bedding in pads on discs that arent "flat" and that have surface corrosion??

I would at least get the discs faced - if there is enough material on them, or idealy replaced with new -preferably 3g's...

Otherwise you are not going to get the best out of them and might as well just put cheap pattern pads on.

I wouldn't go too OTT on brakes .. just get some red stuff and a bottle of 5.1.

www.brakes4u.co.uk do cheap pads, and Halfords do the fluid.

go for the 3g discs and endless pads, 100% unregretabbubble :) you may aswell while youve got the caliper off for the pads

Can you change the disc's themselves fairly easily? And what about the brake pads? Sorry - I'm some variety of a noob with little mechanical experience (at least with cars!).

endless pads are £146 per axel. £292 for the front + back :) they are for the Endless Super Street Pads :) which people have :)

Discs are only held on by the calipers (two bolts) and the pads mount using three springs - each pad is sprung against its partner then held into the caliper with a spring ...
