it's the alarm system telling you that the doors have been "double locked"

the rav4 has this system in it also,it just means doors can't be opened without the alarm going off.

test it by double locking it then use the key to open the door,it should go nuts

it also stops you opening the door from inside the car...

makes it that bit harder to nick something big fron in your car, coz everything has to come out the window

might not be that alarm thing srd was on about, but get in the car and do it, i bet you wont be able to open the doors. if you can, then your alarm is just having a good day lol.

and as for locking someone in a car... ive had bad experiences with double locks, lol. crazy ex-gf locked me in her car and walked off, hahaha. wasnt funny at the time. was a scary night that night, last one i was with her aswell. crazy !Removed!

is there a little sensor inside the car?

some alarms have a valet mode which bypasses the security system.if you have this the little led sensor should stay on,i.e it'll be glowing.

if you don't have one of those sensors i guess there isnt an alarm and like you said the cars just happy/saying good bye

might be a kind of fake jobbie, just to deter near by nasty people :cacker:

does your remote key close the windows etc if you keep the lock button pressed down.......try it. open a window slightly and try to lock the car keeping your finger pressed on the lock button if the window shuts and then the car locks i know why she is bleeping.........but its a complecated process to stop but it needs stopping.....basically you locking system is not sycrinised to the dead locks on the car.......if the window thingy works post reply and will post an essay on how to put it right..............
