Quality Concerns

Hi

This is a little off the wall but as it includes Toyota I feel I can include it on this site.

I have been talking to a salesman here today who drives a Merc CLK he says he has had it 9 months and nearly 6 of those 9 months have been spent in the dealers being sorted, it has only covered 9000 miles, all faults have been silly niggles but not what is expected of a car costing over 50 grand ( yes 50 thousand pounds!!):o

I keep seeing in various different areas of the forum where people complain about the quality of their cars, what sort of fault are you seeing and how do the dealers manage your complaints?

The salesman said the Merc dealers on the IOW are a bunch of J-Arthurs and are treating him like a muppet, the Daimler-Chrysler were not much better he said.

So, does where the cars are made, make any difference, I saw someone saying Toyota manufacture in Turkey, is this true? I am sure I wouldn't buy a Japanese car unless it was made in Japan.

Rgds

Simon

toyota do produce cars in a few contrys outside japan including here in the uk

just because a toyota isnt built in japan does not mean that it is of inferior quality all toyota plants are regularly inspected to ensure consistant quality throughout the world
