I think its around 98 Db but they'll have a hard time to do you for it, i run a straight thru' zorst, no silencers at all measured at 115 Db and it goes through MOT's fine, your mate might have a problem if its got to be SVA'd but then he can change it afterwards.

98db seems a little high. Normally 87-90db is a more realistic figure as 98db is higher than the health and safety regs. Normally measured with a car 1.5 - 2 metres from a wall with the db meter 1.5 metres in the air as far as I know.

What car did you manage to get 115db from? Sceptical. A jet aircraft on take off is 120db. I managed 118db from a WRX Type RA but that was a straight through pipe with no mufflers and it was only attainalbe on spikes as a result of running antilag.

To get 115db from an NA small capacity engine is doubtful. How did you measuere it on the move? All I can figure is your exhaust is about 2 inches long from the manifold.

2 inches.....would be perfect if turbocharged

The Monster has a temp exhaust fitted at the moment which is about 2 foot long an exits behind the front wheel......and thats not even 115 db

I've seen 110Db on MR2 Turbo's with the Blitz nurSpec but as Geln says 115Db does seem a tad high....

98 doesn't seem unreasonable to me as mine has recorded readings of 98Db a couple of times at Combe at 4.5k with a meter 1.5m, im only an NA with induction, the 17DB needed to get upto 115 is an incredible amount.

Small capacity N/A???? Not me matey.

It was measured from a 1m distance at 3000 rpm at TSC2 last year, i didnt do it myself and the meter did look a bit old.

My exhaust is 2.5" bore from turbo, which then goes straight underneath the car which is the connected to a 1000m long 4" pipe to look like a rear box.

Supragal....sorry hun ill chase it up.
