Help!!!.

I managed to get hold of a Toyota TNS 500 CD Based navigation system with the In dash display (3TV05 In dash Display unit) out of a 1999/2000 100 series.

I'm trying to install it in my 1993 HDJ 80. I currently have a Kenwood CD Tuner in the vehicle and on connecting the system up the Navigation unit powers up and will eject the CD but the in dash display will not power up and slide out.

I also got hold of a TM4414 Toyota CD Tuner but I'm not sure if this requires an amp (it has the amp type connectors - a 20 way and a 15 way connector) just in case the display is not compatible with a non Toyota Audio unit.

1st Question - does the TM4414 require the factory amp.

2nd question - has anyone done this install and are there any tricks.

3rd question - does anyone know the wiring pin outs on the dash display so I can try and power it up off the vehicle to make sure it is working.

Hope someone can help here..

Cheers

Andy

Did u have any luck with this ? I have 2 100 series with this system in them . Would have thought it should work with the Tm4414 cd headunit if you have factory cd changer . but I got the 1803 cassette head units in those because they work with the cd changer onthe screen as well as the sat nav .actually just fitted another 1803 where a tm 4414 wouldhave been where someone fitted after Market head unit
