my yaris T3 Diesel 04 uses super Long Life coolant and in order for me to top it up. I have to buy a 5Ltr can from Mr T because there is no smaller amount. to buy apparently. as 5 Ltr cost round about £40 I find this a rip-off. any suggtestions as to what I can use ? :help:

Thank-you

How many Mr Ts have you tried. Prices really do vary, so it would probably be worth shopping around a bit.

Is your car using coolant, or are you just looking to change the existing stuff. If its using it it may be the symptom of an underlying problem and worth a visit to Mr T with the car.

There is a coolant that some of the T-Sport guys swear by, but I can neither remember the name of it nor find it on the Envy site. Clarky certainly has it, but it involved a full drain and change.

Actually, whilst looking through the Envy site they have 5 litres of the Toyota stuff as described for £18 (+p&p) so it sounds like you're getting robbed. Here's the link to it on their website:- Clicky!

Hth,

Alan

Is this the normal toyota red longlife coolant? If so MrT in northampton is 17quid for 5 litres and envy is 15.

£40 will be the Pink coolant found in most newer Toyota's, apparantly it should last the whole life of the car

In Toyota's infinite wisdom aswell they haven't made this available in 1ltr top ups.

Surely you should be able to an unbranded oem coolant to the same quality level from a motor factor in 1 litre packs??

I wouldn't go mixing coolant to be honest, it can turn the coolant all gunky and thick blocking pipes causing overheating etc.

I would always say use one brand of coolant only.
