My Car, My Gearbox And My Brake Discs

Just bought my GearBox from Jap City!

Anyone know if it looks OK?

Its getting fitted on Monday!

also... I recently changed my Brake Discs and my new ones now have this brown rust looking stuff on them. Anyone know what it is? im thinking it might be the fact that I need to bleed my brakes or something...

yep looks like a gearbox alright lol :P and the brown rusty stuff is iron oxide ;)

any idea what the iron oxide is? and how I can stop it etc?

is that all! mines like 212bhp :P iron oxide is rust mate, i was taking the ***** :P and the gearboxes are tiny :P very easy to pick up

problem is... It just washes off... its not stuck on the disk or anything...

also... if the Gearboxes are tiny... how come the one ive got is massive

how do you define 'does it look ok'! its the insides that are important!

and the surface rust is normal, if the cars been stood a day or too, its bare expose metal and the slightest of air moisture will cause the surface to rust up. nothing to worry about though, just brake slowly for a mile to clean up the surfaces

My Yaris in GT4 is like 250 or 260bhp!

got ZERO traction most of the while :D can do ~35 / 36 seconds around autumn ring mini!

as for a gearbox's size.. well they aren't exactly teeny tiny - takes up a fair bit of space next to the engine block (sits to the left of the engine iirc)

if its the right one it'll fit, if not.. it wont ;) send it back - your supplier cocked up.

I wouldn't worry too much mate :) not your fault if they sent you the wrong one or whatever, they'll pay to remedy it! (although it is very inconvenient)

well they pulled it out of an 03 TSPORT so I guess its the right one

You think that's a big gearbox!??! Here's a big gearbox:

from a Jag XJS V12 and even that's small compared to this....

That's from a ship! Biiig!

The rust on the brakes is normal... moisture + air + metal = rust.
