Smartkey Entry - Can The Passenger Side Door Not Use This?

I'm getting my new Yaris TSpirit tomorrow and I wondered if anyone can help with a query. I am a little concerned that as a woman on my own that when I use the smartkey entry somebody could nip in the passenger door as it is activated. My auntie says that her Audi has a feature where the central locking can be configured so that only the driver door works and wondered if the Yaris has the same feature. Anybody know? Thanks.

:)

That would be useful to know. If your picking up the car tomorrow from a Dealer you would normally expect them to go over all the controls as part of the Handover procedure, I'ld ask your salesman while he's going over the car and make sure he finds out for you...

I'ld be interested to find out :D

The kind folk at Toyota let me borrow a T-Spirit for a few hours earlier on this year....

I'm pretty sure that the smart entry does unlock both doors, the same as if you had a key fob you pressed, but check when you pick the car up...

Welcome to TOC btw!

You could just not unlock the car if somebody dodgy is nearby.

Leeds ain't that bad! It's not Liverpool!

To be honest I don't think it will as they don't have the feature to lock all your doors when you drive away ...... it's these little things that Toyota miss out :( !

I remember when looking to buy a golf I couldn't open the passenger door as when I pressed unlock once it only unlocked the drivers door, you had to press the button again to unlock everything else including the fuel cap door and the boot. My dad's Seat Leon also has that feature.

Good feature if you ask me ...... would have expected to see it on my Corolla but unfortunatly not <_<

I miss this feature on my Yaris, I had it on my micra where one blip would only open the drivers door. I have a T-Sprit and unfortunately the whole car is opened but at least the central door lock switch is easily accessible. Hope you enjoy your T-Spirit, they are nice cars. IF you have any other questions please just message me.

toyota seem to miss off fundamental basics or features that other car manufacturers have used for years.

hope this isnt one of them as its a safety feature

I'm pretty sure your Toyota dealer can easily change the behaviour of the central locking so that it behaves exactly the same as on your micra. It should only take a couple of minutes and they'll probably do it free of charge. They only have to hook up the tester and change a few settings. They can also change other things, like how long the dome light stays on after closing the doors.
