Hi Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help. :help: I bought my 2001 T-sport less than a month ago and driven around 500 miles. It went through an RAC, garage and MOT before being sold to me from Inchcape, but now my front right break disc is acting up. It has a slight lip of rust on the edge which causes an annoying metal scraping noise. I had a mechanic look at it who suggested I change both the discs and the pads. (Pads are about 7mm). It's still under the 3 month warranty which came with the vehicle from the dealer. But as they are located in Burton and me being in London i do not want to drive that distance with dodgy breaks. They won’t come and pick it up either nor will they foot the bill if i take it to a local garage. They want me to call out my breakdown recovery service to tow it up to them for inspection. Do you guys think this is fair? What would you do?

Inchcape are a nationwide group, the dealer warranty should be covered by all dealerships within the group not just the one you bought it from, are there any dealerships closer ?

Thanks,

I've tried explaining that to them, they keep fobbing me off with excuses they they'll will get back to me, really frustrating. I might just get them sorted out at a local garage. Mr T has quoted me £390 for front break discs and pads. That seems a little steep to me. Anyone know any good london garages?

If you buy your car brand new from Mr T you can take your car to ANY Mr T and they will fix it no problem (free for the first 3 years).

If you buy your car second hand from Mr T you can still take your car to ANY Mr T - HOWEVER they have to call the dealership where you brought the car from to get the work authorised (ie pay for it).

Those are the rules!

Dave..........he said it was a 2001 model bought 1 month ago with 3 months warranty from Inchcape at Burton.

All I was pointing out to him was that there is an INCHCAPE TOYOTA in Battersea London...............which should suit his needs

Thanks for the links and the info. I've tried calling the batersea branch they seem to be happy to change the disc and pads for me, which is fantastic, But i have a sneaky feeling the Burton branch wont be happy with this or for footing the bill. ;)
