Tyre Pressure And Revolving Seats

Hi, having bought a Regius 6 months ago and taken it around the UK and Europe I think I've finally broken my addiction to Peugeot 505s. I have some questions, however, for the illuminati around here.

Tyre pressures - I currently seem to have a mix from 2.2bar to 2.7 bar. Clearly not safe and I cannot find the right pressures anywhere not even in the Japanese manual. Could someone advise me on what I should have especially as I do a lot of motorway driving and over the next few months will be ferrying people to sports matches.

Rotating seats - Both the frony and middle seats are supposed to rotate. The middle ones are not a problem but the front ones don't want to play. I know when I had a Peugeot 806 the front seats rotated and the front seats are fitted with the same push-in that the middle seats possess, but they just don't work. Is there a trick or a safety device that needs disabling?

How easy is it to remove the seats both middle and back. There seems to be a cap over the end of the runners at the back but it doesn't seem to come off very easily. The middle seats have on runner that stops halfway back and another that goes all the way to the rear. Do I take it that I need to remove the back seat to remove the middle seat?

Thanks very much for any help

Ian

 I found a kiwi site hiring Hiace campers and they say 55psi! I am going to try it and see.

cfc1 has advised me 45psi front 50 rear. I would suggest we go with that as this is good info

Its all trial and error to be honest.. each individual will have their own way of getting a feel for how a vehicle handles, and different vehicles with have their own characteristics,, so as such, and is the case with ALL cars ans vans etc, tyre pressures are there as a guide only.. but you should never exceed the maximum pressure whick is marked on the sidewall.

Hi

We have just got a 2.7 petrol Regius with a camper conversion and see that the recommended pressure on the vehicle body is 2.4bar which I think is 35psi. However, the vehicle is a very soft drive and we were seeing you guys are using 50psi which is a massive difference. Also we can't see on the tyres where it gives a max pressure.

Being new to this I would appreciate any advice

Thanks

Emma

:) Go to 45 and try it, then to 50 you can always let them down again. I am not familiar wth the vehicle you have but the Hiace is very tyre sensitive and the fron tyres start to heat up if driven with only 35 lbs! B)

Hiya,

I had trouble finding what pressure to put until someone pointed out the sticker you can see when you open the driver's door that has the pressure (in PSI I think) written in big red letters.

As for the seats, I had a hell of time getting getting them to swivel. In the end I started to dismantel the seats right at the bottom and worked out how the mechanism works. Since doing that I can get the driver seat to swivel (you need to recline the site so it almost touches the steering wheel then pull the thing that looks like a lawn mower/chain saw starter cord.

I haven't found a way to removed the rear seats.... at least not without a screw driver... which is too bad because it'd be dead handy!

And that's on the 1998 Hiace Regius... and it may be different on different models....

-Ben.
