Just got a HD TV at the weekend, do you get the HD lead with the full system or do you have to buy it seperate?

How much was the TV and what make/model mate?

I'm looking at getting a HD tv after christmas.

if its any help - im running a Hitachi 42" plasma that comes with 2 x HDMI plus the component (so can have Sky HD, HD-DVD and 360 all on HD) and it runs the 360 at 1080i rather stunningly..

you really should get one, they're ace! :yahoo:

Do you mean 1080i or 1080p? my TV doesnt even support 1080p.. not sure about the 32"s but I know the cheapest 42" plasma that supported it properly was the 2k pioneer (when i was looking).

You looking for plasma or LCD? either way, expect to spend over 1100 for the cheapest set that will support 1080p...

Those plasma displays are brilliant, but in the past they've had a bad reputation for fading within 12-18 months. I think the brightness on some models was down to 50% of when they were new after two years.

Perhaps they have fixed this problem now, but the HD sets haven't been around long enough to find out.

Paul.

Thats a myth nowadays, same as screenburn - in my experience anyway (with a 18 month old JVC Plasma).....

well, thats the trade off if you buy a cheap brand - most decent sets should be okay..
