What Have You Acheived This Year?

I thought about it and could only think of ummmmm nothing :crybaby: so then I looked at the low points in this year and what good points came out of it, and came up with this.

This year has been an emotional roller coaster.

I was evicted.

I moved from across the country from Rochdale to Middlesbrough, away from my Dad and Nan, but when I think about it that was a huge acheivment in itself moving away from the only two peeps left in my family.

Got a job and had to keep my head down and mouth shut and just get on with people. Which I did. kinda. :shutit:

I ended a relationship that at times was the only thing that kept me going, I tend to hang on to things/people even when I know it is not doing me any favours and causing more pain. :(

Just coming to terms that we were over and then having to say that we were over, was a huge acheivment imo, I know how insecure and scared I can get when I have no one to love or love me back, it has taken its time but now I am in a better happier position.

My uncle passed away last month, but due to this I am now in contact with more cousins than I know what to do with.

Then there was KITT :crybaby: yes I know she was only a car but she was like a best friend to me. And those peeps who do love their car will fully understand what I mean by that. I have thrown money at her left right and center to keep her going but it was not meant to be.

Yesterday I said something that mentaly made me think "yeah, its time to let her go" which as some peeps know is one of the hardest things for me to do, and I cried and I am still crying and will do for a little while more.

The acheivment from this is once again I had to let go of something which to me was like letting go of the above relationship. Some people might think that as quite sad but I really dont care.

The other good thing that has come from saying goodbye to KITT is that I need to get anothr car  I have saved up and have a nice little wad and we (Rich and I) are going to find me a little run about.

What is the outcome of this years events???? I am a stronger person than I first thought, I can get through anything that is thrown at me...mebbe with just a little help. :P

I dont need to hang on to situations that are not doing me any good just beacuse I am scared that if I let go I will fall to pieces.

But I do hope that next year will be slightly less complicated

Looks like you've achieved a great deal this year hun, more than most people  And you've come out of it a stronger and better person  You go girl!

Mine has been similar, a rollercoaster of a year but I can safely say that everything bad thats happened to me (apart from my Grandmas death) has had a positive side to it....

Rich and I split up and I moved out of our house and I moved back in with my parents, but I'm saving money for my own gaff and hope to be out of here by next Autumn.... I guess I'm just grateful I have excellent parents who were prepared to take me back in - not everyone is blessed with such a great family.

My Grandma passing away had a profound effect on me, she was the kindest, wisest woman in the world and I still miss her good advice and guidance.... but deep down I know she's always there and although nothing postive can really come out of death, in a way she's always been egging me on and her memory is always there. She would have always wanted me to succeed and I know she's somewhere and she's very proud.

I got made redundant from a job I loved, which I took as best as I could, but I can't deny it hurt a lot. But because of that, it pushed me to find a better job, which I now have and I told the guys I used to work with about my new IT job and they were thrilled for me. They told me to go and chase my dream and I did and I'm going to a party with them on 2nd December and we're going to celebrate my dream chasing success! :D

And of course I have a lot of plans for the future - new car, new place - really a brand new Em and I have 2006 to thank for it. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I've been very down this year about certain things, I've not been myself because I let everything get on top of me. But 2006 has redeemed itself.

Sometimes we need a few hiccups in life to realise how sweet it can be when it goes right!

Personally for me, it's been a pretty good year.

If I'm allowed to cheat and go back into last year by a few days then I bought my CTS on 27th December - which I absolutely love (I bought it after the brakes failed on my 10-year old 1.4 astra - luckily they went whilst I was going uphill at about 5:30 in the morning so I shot straight out into an empty road before getting it to stop.

Apart from that the majority of the year has been the same old, same old. Then last week I got told that after 3 years at my cuurent company as a fixed term employye, they were making me permanent and giving me a 20% payrise too. This was brilliant timing as 3 days later I completed and moved into my first house with my girlfriend.

And to cap the year off, I'm flying out to Australia in just over 2 weeks for a month of travels as well as being the best man at my sister's wedding.

Drove to Belgium alone for the first time & have continued to do so since :D

We won around £25 in total all year on the Euromillions (thats an achievement surely?)

Moved onto a new team at work & have stayed on there

Got some infected glands on my neck, which made me feel pretty poorly but I'm virtually over it

Grown closer to certain people & left other Friendships behind as they caused more hassle then they were worth.

So nothing really that major, but still acheived nonetheless!
