The problem is now solved after a bit of blow torching....

The old backbox finally came off, and here comes the Sebring BackBox

Sounds deep and low, but still quiet enough not to disturb the neighbours...

I am happy now! :D

Question for you guys: Will I expect a much louder/nice exhaust note if I cut the mid silencer off the center section, and weld a straight through pipe in?

Will I pass MOT with such setup? And how much louder will the exhaust sound?

Thanks!

it will, or should pass the mot with the middlebox removed, just be careful as it can cause the exhaust to sound tinny.

I know I am being dumb.... But what does a tinny exhaust sounds like? Do you mean it could become high pitch instead of low tone?

So I should leave it as is then....

Or shall I do it the otherway round, keeping the mid silence box, and have a straight through pipe to replace the back box? Will it sound like a !Removed! can too?

Best bet is to go to custom exhaust place and get them to replace mid section for you then you will get deep tone!

What kind of price range should I be looking at? (I am a cheap skate....)

Cutting off the mid-silencer will give you quite a raspy, high-pitched tone and it will be a fair bit louder. For a change in note (and performance) a sports cat is excellent and that'll still pass MOT too. That's a bit dearer though!
