Has the law definatley changed making an M.O.T. needed every 2 years now to make us the same as Europe ?.

If it has, my M.O.T. i had done in November 06 expires November 07 , what do I do in 07 ?, do I need a new certificate without a test or just leave it as it is for another year ?.
