...and quite pleased with it, but, as it is near the top of the range, why hasn't it got...a

boot light

courtesy light dimmer

glove box light

rear wash wipe delay

timed rearscreen heater

radio control on steering wheel.

As time has gone on I am missing most of these things, dont get me wrong I love the car and but other manafacturers have alot of these items in lower range models eg my old '91 Rover 214 Had Glove box light boot light, rear wiper delay and timed rear screen heater .You may ask why did I bother buying my CDX,Ilove the looks and performance and is my best car yet , up with my Rover which I bougt at 2 yrs old some 14 yrs ago.

Can't answer most of your questions however I can say that Toyota did add:

Boot light and

Steering wheel radio controls

to the CDX replacement - the T-Spirit

As for the rest... not even the T-Sport has them as far as I know so dunno! lol

hey bud, im driving a CDX at the mo and none of those features were included on any of the phase 1 range

as said by peridot, they added a couple of features for the phase 2

imo, a couple of those should have been added and also a memory for the front seats for 3dr's for example. toyota seem to think of brilliant ideas but forget the little touches

Don't forget the yaris was brand new out of the box so these features will be added over time. The other cars you meantion have been out for donkeys so these small additions would have been added back in the day.

i think mine has a courtesy light dimmer...

but ive never been in a car with a timed rear screen heater, and i wouldnt really care if my car had any of those things tbh i dont know why youd need them...

The timed rear screen is good , as you dont have to remember to turn it off, which i bet happens quite often to us all . I owned an early 206 it had all but one of the things I listed, If I remember rightly the 206 came out about the same time as the Yaris (give or take a few months)..'98 ish, at the time I thought Jap cars had all the "toys" and european cars lagged behind....but boys and girls I aint complaining as long as it dont let me down :D

Well thats the thing - if you had the choice between a car with all the toys that was unreliable or a car with not as many toys but reliable.... which would you choose? ;)

So, you chose wisely :D
