I went into the back of a woman on the Dual Carriageway tonight on my way home :( :censor: So annoyed with myself, although Direct Line are doing a good job of sorting it all out.

I can say first hand that although it crumples, I'm absolutley fine, it stands up well.....

:ffs:

Yeah that's the main thing, and the reason we have Insurance! Oh well it'll get fixed and it'll still be fantastic! :D

I'll take a pic tomorrow, its deformed the front bumper, and the bonnet has been pushed up by it, the light is a bit scratched from the bumper, but the bumper and the number plate took the main brunt of the bash.... I drove it home, about 15 min so it's not terrible, just a mess....

Thanks for the support, still kicking myself though!

Just put it down to experience & learn from it, nothing else you can do. It's better that the bodywork of the car takes the force of the crash leaving you untouched than the other way around, glad you're ok

Yep, I dunno what happened, everything just seemed to stop, and Golf's stop quicker than Yaris's!

I went to the Bodyshop today, and they have booked it in, all should be fixed in 2 weeks time, and I get a hire car and everything. Apparently it's safe to drive, so it just doesn't look very pretty!

I try not to make it a habit!

Something like this happened to my a couple of years ago in a Mk3 Fiesta. They had a tow bar so the damage was bad in a small area. I had a new bumper & headlight but the metalwork was going to be to expensive to sort out. So I drove round with a few dents until the engine died.
