what the hell is a smart start system.? do you mean remote start?

Yeah, the keyless start, where you have the fob, and press the button,RRG Salford called it Smart Start System. Comes on the T-spirit model.

I would think that RRG Salford would be able to supply you with all the bits needed.................and they could do the job for you if you have a large wallet :)

if you wanted the OEM version it would cost thousands as you would need a complete new loom, smart keys , ecu etc.

It would have cost you less to just upgrade to a T-Spirit when you bought your T3!

Its one of those things that, for the cost, it isnt really worth doing unless you have money to burn.... and if so you'd be better off getting a T-Spirit model anyway because when you sell your T3 you won't get any return on investment!

Looks like it's keystart then, thanks everyone for the advice. :)

I notice your signature shows your car as an Aygo, but you asked about start button for an 06 Yaris................that seems a little strange

are you not talking about a thing where you can be lying in bed in the house and press a button on the fob and the engine will start but without unlocking the doors or disarming the alarm as they have seperate buttons on the fob for that?

I hope you know what i mean...

Anyway loads of clifford, toad etc alarms have that.

This is the system he said..................not the aftermarket remote start.

Never heard of it then.

Is it some sort of system where you dont turn a key to start the car, but you still have to be in the car to start it and cant start it from far away?

Remote starting is cool, but if you have to be in the car anyway to use this system it sounds like a waste of cash, id just keep usin the key.

Yes, that's the one. It's on the T Spirit as said earlier. You walk up to the car and it opens when it recognises your key (in pocket, bag or wherever!). You then depress the clutch, press the start button and you're good to go.

I'd love it but only on a car I'd bought that had it already. Pressing a button is no less difficult than turning a key in the ignition.

Oh and I doubt Toyota would even contemplate retro fitting it to a Yaris.
