Jd Power Survey 2007

Thanks for posting the link. I struggle to find it every year! Well done the Yaris. It's great to come in at 3rd in the supermini class when other big sellers like the Fiesta, Corsa, Punto, Clio, Ibiza (and most other brands you see at big car supersites who don't do Honda or Toyota) can't even make the top 10.

One thing always annoys me though and thats getting beaten by a Fabia. I'm not denying the Fabia is a good car and I have no problem with the Skoda brand (especially the vRS models) but I can't see how its that much of a superior quality package compared to the Yaris. The Jazz, fair enough, but not a Fabia! But then again, Skoda as a manufacturer has crept up to top 3 rankings in recent years. My theory is that its the Skoda owners who have a stigma to the Skoda brand, and so they over rate it in surveys in order to justify the purchase to themselves!

Another good result for the Yaris

The Honda Jazz and Skoda Fabia still in their usual 1st and 2nd place.

The Yaris once again consistently good in user surveys :toast:

The Jazz is the current model but the Yaris probably refers to the old model - not the new Big Small.

Considering the new Yaris came out in early 2006 and this survey is published mid 2007 then I tend to disagree.

Well, my Toyota dealer is very good. However, I spent a week at a Škoda dealer to see how they did it there, it was superb. The showrooms, much better than Toyota. The workshop, far better service than Toyota (a full clean after they'd done work to your car, how many manufacturers does this?), plus the cars were terrific. The Fabia felt alot bigger than the Yaris, alot more expensive too. My Verso looks like it's built out of paper and is a lot more mechanical.

However, I don't own a Fabia, it's too boring for me. The Mk1 that is, the Mk2 is quite cool. And lovely interior design, much classier than Yaris P3. Škoda has done some great things and is better off than Audi, VW and Seat. I love those cars, I really do. And find me a car with more bang-for-buck, it's cheap and good. Toyota is playing on their reliability, and makes more expensive cars now than before. Expensive to buy, but not of much better inside quality. And who knows, maybe it will happen to Toyota the same as with Volkswagen? No one could up the Beetles, then Volkswagen made more expensive models and stopped what they had earlier been doing, along came the Japanese and crushed VW in terms of reliability and quality.

Some day, Škoda, Proton, Perodua and Ariel (tongue.gif) will have crushed Toyota.

Interesting, that BMW now tops the Norwegian survey in front of Toyota. Anyway, the car in front will be a Toyota for some more time. But the Yaris should have been number two in that survey, behind that Fabia. Now, I like Škodas but don't get me started on those Hondas tongue.gif

The average length of ownership in this survey was two years, so in truth it was probably a mix of old and new. This would mean that it is not an accurate survey on the new or old model Yaris.

The top ten cars were:- Toyota/Lexus 6

Honda 2

Skoda 2

nough said! :toast:
