the best way to control boost and get traction in 1st and 2nd gear 9psi to 17.5psi at the push of a button

39hy6.jpg

thought i'd post up one of my tuning r&d sheets.

this run was done with the boost controller set to hold 15psi ......

this was the last stable run before the oil breather hose on the top of the head exploded and sent oil everywhere ..... hmmmm maybe oil catch cans arent just for ricers

i had a run @ 16psi where it came up @ 205kw but as it was 1 run with no tweaking the whole rev range was all jittery and not as smooth as this ..... the car currently runs 17.5 psi on high boost so we "think" (no i dont have a sheet to prove it) that it would be flickering around the 220kw mark ...... the funny thing is that the car didnt react as bad as it did on 16psi which we couldnt work out but hey its running fine.

hopefully i get my fuel system sorted as well because the car is currently maxing out @ over 7700rpms @ 17.5psi plus becuz of the little oil hose incident the car isnt running the most efficient tune .... in fact its a little on the rich side .....

As you can see though unlike when it was n/a the car hold peak from about the 130km/h mark all the way through to redline ..... so roughly 7200 rpms to 8450rpms

oh and i have no idea what its making on low boost .... i can guess by using simple maths that it would be in the 165kw-175kw range but like i said i dont know

C2Power Manifold

8.8:1 Wiseco pistons

Darton Sleeves

Crower Rods

MWR Valves + Valve springs

Quaife LSD

Exedy HD Clutch

Apexi Power FC

4000 series DBA slotted rotors

Ferodo DS2500 pads

TRD light weight rims

Cusco zero 2 coilovers

TRD Quickshifter

3" Full Custom Exhaust

TRD Front Strut

Toms lightened Flywheel

Morosso Oil Pan

The head has been ported & polished

The crank was polished and balanced

I hope thats a good enough break down for u ;) .... and as stated above its a full custom exhaust

196.1 kw is roughly equal to 260 bhp!!

that figure of 196kw is at the wheels not @ the engine ..... at the engine / flywheel we think it would be making about 260kw so 350bhp

latest update

well got the car re-tuned and a few issues fixed and she has come up an absolute beaut ..... 248.3KW at the wheels ..... An estimate that's 335KW at the engine or 450BHP .... not bad for a 1.8L

bluebeast.jpg

Short clip on the dyno - 1 min -

well managed to get it down in the 12.6 territory by the end of the night again on the last run but once again absolutely pathetic 60' times ..... 2.2 for this ..... funny i ran a 1.97 when i ran the 12.6 last time so if i can manage to get all the areas of running right (launch, gear changes etc) i might get my low 12 ...... lol .... traction was not my friend again tonight ..... i am getting better at warming those tyres though .... lol .... was just a damn cold nite.

anyway here are my video clips of 4 of my runs

12.638@116.10MPH -

12.665@117.88MPH -

12.876@117.89MPH -

- damn broken left lane timing display

13.001@116.32MPH -

- YAY Finally some smoke from the wheels lol ..... its only a little but it will do .... lol

Indeed WOW !!!

I have though it would be great idea to bolt on a turbo and get some performance parts attached.

And the results from your car are amazing !!!!

Must be great fun hitting lift in it now :D
