Unusual Landcruise

Greetiings to all members

I recently bought a Landcruise described as follows on the registration doc. V5/2

Toyota - 2 axle Rigid Body Light 4 x 4 Utility. Heavy Oil 2500cc. Manufactured April 1992 imported 17/2/2000

I have no information other than this. No Handbook to guide me.

I bought the Japanese translation Handbook for the Landcruiser 89 - 95 but in some respects it doesn`t match up.

As an example the only fuse box is located in the body Shell by the drivers right foot.

The rear doors are as for a van but it does have the extra fold up seats, again the speedo,tacho etc are different from those illustrated.

It is an automatic turbo diesel.

I had the car serviced at the local Toyota dealers where I was told that the engine is Model ZL - TE 3 litre

Neither Toyota UK nor the local dealers can say which model it is

I am sure that amongst the myriad of members someone will be able to give me a clue.

Many thanks in advance for any guidance from Meirion in Chester (whose son reckons he must at 80 be the oldest Landcruiser driver/owner in captivity)

Thanks for your interest - I have been doing some searching and found out that it would appear to be a Hilux Surf (It is almost identical to the photo in the Rough Trax ) The engine description I gave was off course - I checked the plate and the engine is shown as 2446cc

(which would account for it being called 3.0TD and the engine model is 2L-TE. Amongst the Rough Trax spares/accessories for this model it shows hub attachments identical to the ones on mine.All I need to get now is the proper drivers handbook to prove/disprove my theory.

Incidentally I bought it a ta ridiculously low price from a dealer who had incorectly marked it !!! Had it fully serviced by the local Toyota dealer (as a starting reference point having no other documentation) They were very impressed by it`s condition and apart from some minor items gave it a clean bill of health. m still finding my way around this excellent site and I have been very amused by some of the comments

Finally - have you any idea where i canget a drivers h/book ?
