Insurance Groups

my mate (the jammy :censor: ) has a shiny red 54 plate C2 GT

today he spoke to his insurance company and apparently, all the C2 insurance groups have been hiked up, and his C2 GT is now group 13!

it used to be group 7 i think, and the VTS model C2s were only group 8

now considering the saxo VTR is a group 12 or something silly, and the VTS a group 16 or similar, i always thought they were a bit low on the C2.

but are they allowed to just change insurance groups like that? seems a bit unfair really

i hope they dont suddenly decide yaris T sports are worthy of a group 13 insurance quote!

I think the Yaris T-Sport insurance should be ok. The C2's are brought by the majority of young drivers and they are a much higher liability than your average T-Sport Owner.

Yeah, they can in theory change them whenever they want, which can be harsh seems as a lot of people (myself included) consider that a massive part of deciding what car to buy. They base it on how often people damage the car causing a claim, how much they cost to repair for the average claim, how often they are robbed & things like that
