Whirlpool/spa Baths - Experiences?

Thinking of getting a Whirlpool/spa bath (not for installation in the Prius!).

Has anyone got one? - if so, do you find they generate a lot of noise downstairs when installed upstairs on a wooden floor? Don't want to spend a shed load of money and find out the noise is unbearable.

We have a whirlpool bath.. very relaxing. Can't help with the noise coming down from upstairs though as our bathroom is downstairs. When in the sitting room we can't hear it running though.
