Shrek In A Yaris

Hi

My wife has an 07 Yaris Zinc which we are very happy with (fourth Toyota).

Only problem is the glare from the dashboard lights at night - Shrek on the A1!

Does anyone know how we can reduce the intensity of the display?

Cheers

Yep - start engine - turn lights on - press and hold the right hand side button on the speedo display and then it should dim :P

On the mark one Yaris there is a button on the dash to reduce the brightness of the display. Doesn’t the new Yaris have this feature?

Not wanting to state the bleeding obvious, but have you looked in the handbook?

My new shape Yaris turn it's dash light intensity down when the side lights/ main beam is on.... are you sure it didn't dim itself when you turn your headlights on?

Same as the old 'un, you have to actually turn it UP by presing the button.

Thanks to all who responded. Sorted!

CraggyIslander was right - the right hand button does offer two levels. This is mentioned on page 163 of the manual (TVOR) but I didn't find it originally as there is no entry in the index for 'display'.

Not as straight foward as you might expect though. This function only operates when the 'mileage' display is on the odometer; if you are on any other reading ie trip then it does what you expect and zeros the display. I sussed by remembering the fun and games I had changing the clock at the end of last month.

Thanks
