Well she is home :yahoo: but is in dire need of a set of mud flaps. The roads in rural Aberdeenshire are a bit of a mess at the mo and keeping her clean is going to be fun.

I know I have seen fitting instructions ofr mudflaps on here somewhere but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Can someone point me in th right direction please. :help:

Anchorman did you post the instructions??

Cheers

Sure will, I just need to know which model you have, some models have the flared wheel arch extensions and are different

I have the flaps got a good deal from the dealership £40.21 incl VAt for the set (not bad for Arnold Shark!)- just need to fit them myself.

I am sure I saw pics somewhere of fitting - they should be easy enough though

Ooh! Tried to buy my Rav4 and my wife's Yaris from them last year - they just couldn't sort out a test drive for the diesel Yaris at the weekend (it was being used by salesmen). Went down the road to Dundee and Struan's couldn't have been more helpful - bought both cars from them and no regrets.

That's absolute disgusting! The car's should be available for anybody to test drive (with enough notice) and not just the salesperson's personal toy.

Glad you got sorted else where

I wouldn't normally deal with AC but my work has deal with them for company cars so was restricted. I have heard some real horror stories about them, and surely a demo car is exacty that not just some salesmans horse!

Struans have a good reputation though if I need any extras I will price them both and Kingo of course!

Hi Steve,

Like wise i was into Arnold Clark yesterday and was quite pi$ed off as i was in for a test drive of the Rav 4 SR180 and the sales man was too busy to come near us as he had a few new cars to get out before the month end. He new we were there as the meet and greet mupet told him. We sat for 45mins then we walked out!!!

So we wont be back there if that's the way you are treated

Is there anybody you recomend from the Dundee branch to get intouch with???

I said to my wife i bet (AC Aberdeen) will phone and ask if we want to come back in for a test drive, never mind us staying 1hr drive away... well if i do it will be in our own time and not theirs

Sorry for the rant but it's people like us that keep them in a job :ffs:

Hold your tongue, go in and test drive one at any branch you care, then buy it off us  We deliver any new car anywhere in the UK (mainland) Your bad service might be a blessing in disguise, there are some CRACKING deals on RAV's and many other models this last quarter(Oct-Dec) I'm putting all our website stuff together today and tomorrow, so let us know what you are after and we will do you a good deal

Kingo

Guys, does mudflaps provide any help? I mean, my car will not get as dirty as it does without them? Or it's just for protecting the cars behind me? I'm not selfish on the roads, I mean I respect other drivers, but does it really worth putting them?

Just out of curiosity has anyone had to drill the rear bumper to fit mud flaps, or have the dealer given me the wrong ones???

Thanks

Peter

Hi mate, as I remember some of the screws are self tapping / self drilling. There is a little indent on the wheel arch or bumper

where the screw goes in. I remember at the time thinking it a little unusual as well.

Just wondering Kingo if You are still supplying mudflaps.

This request maybe a little different as I live in Ireland and would need them posted there - so am not sure if the postage would wipe out the saving

I have an XT-4, 2006 2.2D in Astral black

Cheers

I don't think you buy mudflaps for how they look - you buy them to keep mud off! They're not really that noticeable, but in my opinion they don't improve looks.

If you're buying, make sure it's for the right model. They're different for 4.2s and 4.3s.

God bless the search function.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I just got a set and was wondering if they were the right ones as the mounting holes didnt line up.

Helpfully the instructions for the non extended wheel arch flaps dont mention drilling the rear at all!.
