need some help in choosing the correct products, Crizzle usually comes shopping with me to help me pick the right one but this time Im not bringing her cos I usually have to buy her something

1st product on the list is a GPS speed camera detector, see this one at Aldi for £59.99

it has free lifetime subsciption but it would be nice if I could do the upgrade via wifi.

2nd product is a digital camera, not decided which one yet. but I want one which is approx 5MP, can take more than 90 pics on a single charge and does not take years to save the image.

3rd product is an external HDD, Ive seen this one at ebuyer

its by LaCie which contains a 500GB Samsung drive for £65.49, orginally I wanted one which was USB powered

4th product is a LCD for my kitchen, this is to encourage me to eat my food in the kitchen instead of the front room, Ive been told that a 15" is too small and that I should go for one that is 21-26", theres so many on the market and I dont know which one to pick

Try looking at the customer reviews in amozon or something. For the camera I went with the latest coolpix S200 bit its not the cheapest available so it what you prefer I think

1. Dunno anything about these

2. Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 - just got one and its cracking

3. USB powered ones are laptop drives so only go up to 250gb, depends on what you need

4. Samsung do some cool ones

  • 2 weeks later...

the hard drive will be used to store games, music and videos

and also backup an 80GB laptop so a portable one would probably be better

when looking for a LCD what contrast ratio and brightness should I be looking for?

As far as external hard drives go.. I was thinking of getting one of these...

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128606

Its a Seagate FreeAgent Pro 750GB USB/eSATA with a 16mb cashe, and at under £130 it looks a good buy... also looks quite nice too.

If you do decide to go for the 500GB drive, you can get the almost identical Porsche designed LaCie drive from Amazon for £66 inc vat and del. Got one last week and very pleased with it - though I don't use the software that came with it as I already had good backup software.

It does have external power supply though. I'm sure the 500GB would be better for backups, but obviously not as portable.
