sorry if im in the wrong department here but wonder if anyone can give me some advice. had just finished jumping through hoops that my P reg carina got through its mot, by the skin of its teeth no doubt when i heard a ticking sound, called out the AA who couldnt hear it or figure out what it could be but the guy said the clutch was iffy, would probably need replacing and id probably find it more n more difficult to get into gear. hey presto within days thats what happened, i dont hear or feel anything dodgy with the clutch but the gears are striggling. can anyone tell me how much a clutch for a carina e (1.8l) is likely to be. also am i likely to need a new gear box as well and how long is it till its likely to go completely. im obviously skint after christmas so dont want to get it done till necessary. also any pointers to where to go in the north london area? im a mere female so dont want to get ripped off! happy new year :thumbsup:

thanks but i dont have anyone to fit it for me, i was enquiring more about what i can expect to pay reasonably in garage prices. thanks anyway

funny you should ask, had never heard of them till today but have managed to book in for the morning 200quid all in, only problem is finding the place now :o - thanks for response
