About a month ago I noticed that my Avensis T3S (03 model) was using a lot of oil. Fortunatley I stumbled across your site and was comforted to read that I wasnt alone with this problem. My car which Ive only owned for eight months has only done 42K and seemed to be running perfectly also started to show a warning light on the dash which was the engine management unit. Having read a number of your members comments about extended warranties by Toyota for this problem I visited my local dealers (Harry Feeneys of Blackpool) they were brilliant! After a 500 mile oil consumption test I was delighted to be told that they will fit a new engine for me, coutesy of Toyota, and as a bonus they will provide me with a coutesy car for the three days its being fixed. Thanks to you I have had my faith restored in Toyota.
