D4d Gearbox 2nd Gear Difficult To Select

Has anyone had a problem with their Auris D4D gearbox, 2nd gear is difficult to select when the engine is cold?

However when the engine is warm it seems a lot easier to select.

I knew someone with 1.4 D and his gearbox was replaced. My gearbox in 1.6 was also replaced after 200miles (I went there with squeeky brakes and gearbox was next thing I was told) . I am not sure what was the reason as they told me it was probably selector and they were going send it back to Toyota.

Looks like gearbox issues are not something unusual and maybe you should get it checked.

I have new Corolla sedan -08 with d4d 2.0. I´ve got same problem, changing to 2nd gear when the engine is cold gives me same problems.

The car is 2 weeks old and driven about 1500km.
