St185 Change To St205

hi there iv been allways wanted to to convert my st185 to look like st205.

im talking about the front end of the car, the front bumper, the bonnet, the side mud guards, the grill, the lights . i want to change all these things on my 185 to a 205.

iv all ready got a price of what its gona cost me. (all the body parts and lights gona cost me over a $1000)

i need to know if its gona work?

how hard can it be if i do this my self?

the shape and size of the st185 and st205 looks the same to me, not much difference or nothing at all ?

i might need some modifications and fabricating?

has anyone done this before?

add 205 wing, and even hid lights

if you look at a ST185 and st205 i say that it can be done

can any one give me some advice before i do it?

reason why is that ive seen quite a few 185 and they sell around for $5000k (stock) up to $10000k plus (with mods) and thing is i wont to sell my car as a 205 look like, so it that will bring more value to my 185,

st205 are rare in australia and if u see one for sale they usually go for more then $15000k plus (there are about 80 st205 in AUS i think )

i checked on the web some one selling a stock st205 in australia for over $30000k??

so any help would be appriceated

You're kidding surely!

The 205 front isn't going to look right on the 185 body for a start IMHO.

And I can't believe the change is going to add any value to your car. The reason the 185s are worth less isn't entirely due to the look of the front of the car I'm sure; some people prefer the pop ups and the lines of the 185. But they're older, heavier, and less powerful, and that's the main thing that reduces their value somewhat compared to the newer cars.

If you were doing this because you personally wanted a 185 with a 205 front then I guess I could see the point; your car, your choice etc. But please don't think you'll add value to the 185 by partially converting it to a 205. You'll be wasting your time and money, and to me the car would be worth far less with a 205 front end on it.

plus the 205 is wider than the 185. it may be possible to do with a LOT of work but the cost would be more than selling the 185 and upgrading to a 205.

plus as said not tooo sure it would look right.

best bet if you want to update the look of the 185 is get a CS bonnet and bumper and some quad lights for the pop ups

As above, this would look insane imo, but for all the wrong reasons. Just don't think the more curvy front end of a 205 will look at home with the harsh, rigid lines of the 185. Think it'll just turn it into a frankenstein car :nono:
