Aygo To Cheaper Insurance

Maybe I'm getting stingy in my old age but my insurance is due for renewal in March and my renewal with Swiftcover is fairly competitive, so I've been shopping around to find a cheaper quote and haven't managed to find one cheaper...

Other than Swiftcover themselves!

Who quoted me (not as a renewal, as a new customer) £25 cheaper than my renewal! So instead of paying £200 with them as a renewed customer I could become a new customer and pay £175!

Yet again being a "loyal customer" means nothing it would seem! I'm in two minds to cancel my insurance and go with them as a new customer - does anyone know if I can do that or can I get them to match the new customer quote for my renewal?

Why they are charging me more I have no idea!

And before anyone states the obvious, yes £25 is not a massive sum of money, especially compared to the fact the insurance is dirt cheap in the first place, but every little helps and I want to pay in full this year rather than monthly so the cheaper the better!

The £25 saving for a new customer is simply a sweetner to get new business.... all insurance companies do it

Get on the phone and tell them you are not happy and want your premium reduced by at least £25.... they will give it to you in order to retain you as a customer :)

That saving just about pays for a years road tax!!!

Just about.... ;)

The joys of dirt cheap motoring!

I'm going to email Swiftcover later on and ask them to match the quote - and if not gonna go elsewhere...

So if anyone has any suggestions for good insurance companies to move to, I'd appreciate it

You owe your insurance company no loyalty at all. Change! Your current insurance company may even be cheaper next year if you go back to them! You have to play them off against each other.

I change every year (utilities, insurance etc) for the cheapest, it all mounts up, £20 here a £10 there, by the end of the year it’s in the hundreds.

You don’t save money by giving it away

i had the same thing happen to me.

I got a renewal and then saved about 100ish pounds by going to the same company even though i had to put 6 points on!

T2 Yaris, business cover, fully comp, protected NCB, legal insurance cover. £172 all in, DL wanted £220, when we phoned to haggle, they gave us a £3 discount to £217, generous eh?............Not...... considering we have been with them for years they didnt do a lot to keep us. Oh well onwards and upwards
