hi i have a 2002 t sport and find the handling was pretty lousy from when i bought it 2 years ago and put it down to th t spots in general having a 'lacklustre ' chassis according to top gear magazine! but there must be a way for me to improve matters especially for cornering i have to leave traction control on in the wet for fear of understeer!

could it be my alloys or tyres -the strangest thing is the car came with 4 new 'mega wheels' and 4 new' michelin pilot primacy' tires when i bought it from the dealer so for the life of me i cant understand why the previous owner would have sold it on so soon after investing in all this new kit!

after 2 years maybe it could be tyre wear, but even my wifes old ghia x handles better round corners!

it has full service history and no previous bumps so it must be down to the alloys or tyres so if anyone can suggest a better upgrade i would be very grateful! also could i put 17" alloys even if the car came with 16" alloys without it affecting mot, safety, balance etc?cheers in advance to all, regards ardbrand

I found the Michelin's that were fitted to my Tsport new were terrible in the wet and i think they are the same as you are using, i got rid of them before they wore out and before i killed myself :-)

Put on some Falken FK 451's (now called FK452's), ran them for 10,000 miles on the front and i thought they were excellent wet and dry but much better than the michelin's in the wet, I have recently fitted some Goodyear Eagle F1's which seem very good as well but no better than the falkens...

Iv heard good things about toyo tyres, although i hadnt heard of them before i came on this forum, but been asking people i know and they have heard good things about them as well, one fella has them on his impreza and thinks their fantastic for grip, not that expensive either. Iv to change the tyres on my car soon cause whats on it now are crap,no confidence in the bends. Plenty of people been talking about tyres topic on this forum before, should do a search and see what comes up.

They wear very well for me... Better than the Bridgestone that was there before it.

Apparently they were built to wear slowly...
