Who's right?

My local towbar fitter quoted the towbar incl. a relay which according to him was required for the Avensis due to its fancy

electronics. (I believe many modern cars need these nowdays.

I got another quote from a respectable fitter in Edinburgh who said 'not required'. When I queried this he said, never fitted one to an Avensis ever before.

So who's right?

I am, by the way, going for single electrics only as its only for towing a trailer/ using a bike rack - will this make a difference?

a 55 plate does not need the bypass relay... :)

Any ideas if a 2008 T25 Avensis estate diesel might?
