2001 Mr2 Roadster Same Engine As Celica ..1zz Fe ?

As the title suggests does the MR2 around 2001 have the same engine as a Celica ... the 1ZZ FE.. so in theory a totally straight swap?

Yeah it's the same engine. As for it being a nice simple switch, I can't really say. I'd guess it would be though.

If you are planning an engine swap.. why not think bigger?.. at least a 2zz?.. or bigger again... you will find that in most/some cases only some simple mods are required.

cheers cfc1 but I have already examined this route in a previous post.... and you need loom, ecu, manifold , complete exhaust and then to fabricate one engine mount.. so not a quick afternoon job or cheap

Iam just covering all my options as i want my celi back on the road...

just waiting for Mr T to give thumbs up or down on free rebuild before i know which route to take or if...ha ha Mr t makes it easy and i get spanky new 1ZZ under my bonnet with 0 miles

yes is it the same engine,couple of different parts but the main engine is the same.its not the easyist engine to remove from a mr2 but a piece of cake to fit into a celica.
