Head Lights On My Levin

rite the thing is the light configuration is pretty funny in my levin- you turn the light stalk thing once and it is the side lights, pretty normal, then you turn the sub-switch on the stalk and it puts the side dip, this is where it starts to go funny, you turn the main stalk switch again and nothing, then flick to full and theres tiny lights and all other lights goes out! when in say tiny i mean like side-light tiny so basically no light when i need it the most!! :ffs:

my levin came with the clear lense with the black housing, im just wondering if they have wired it wrong or something!! will it be hard to rectify or should i just leave it to trained car mechanics/electricians? luckely the mornings are getting lighter and my job is closer so i dont really drive in the dark anymore, but would be a mission in the winter when its dark and i need all the light i can get!

cheers

By Side dip I assume you mean dipped headlights?

If so you can manage on those most of the time, though dark or not I think it's illegal to drive around without a working main beam.

Main beam fuses, filaments or relay broken perhaps?

Have you got a manual? Is there a fuse / relay chart on the top of the fuse box (probably the one under the bonnet)? If you have either of those it should be easy to figure out whether any the fuses or relay are faulty. Also, if you can get to the back of the headlight units you can check that the expected voltages occur when you turn the main beam on.

yea, i meant dipped (always get confused between the 2!!)

as you can see from the pics thats all light i can get, the 2 inner bulb doesnt seem to work for some reason! and the main beam as stated earlier! will have a qick gander under the bonnet now!

had a look under the bonnet and found the fuse box and i think i have figured it out. the 2 inner lights are main, after some playin around i managed to get the full beam on right hand side working, tried switching the bulb over and the left still dont work so its not the bulbs and i hope its just the fuse! (cant take the fuses out as i havent got any plyers, the fuses are small!! ) but surly when you put the main beam on the dipped light stays on? mine doesnt!
