:) Since I purchased my Avensis 1.8VVT T3X in 2004, I have been unable to get the automatic wipers to operate consistantly correctly. Most of the time the wipers start wiping intermittantly, and then continuously even in light rain or when the rain stops. Just occasionally, the wipers seem to operate in a reasonable manner. I have noticed similar problems posted on the Auris forum. The local dealer did replace the rain sensor but there is no improvement. :(

Having found under title "Autowipers a washout", where the fix is to replace the nearside wiper, I have done this and amazingly the auto wipe action is now working for the first time. :)
