Sat Nav Installations

After an exhaustive search I can't find anything so I feel its safe to ask my question.....

I have a camry cdx without factory fitted sat nav (just my old phone sat nav unit which serves me well). What I want to know is how tricky is it to install a proper toyota sat nav unit. Has anyone done this on their car and is it possible to use a unit from say a donor car such as a lexus.

Having checked out the installation guides, apart from the wiring, what concerns me is the amount of panel clips and hooks that could be broken in the install. Has anyone done such a installation and upon completion been totally satisfied that everything is back in its place with nothing broken.
