3.0 Motor How Good Is It?

I bought a 97 Camry Oct 30th. I've put almost 4 thousand miles on it since then. The car and motor have worked perfectly.There's a little over 100,000 on the motor.

As I'm new to Toyota motors, I'm wondering did I happen on one of the better motors? It's a V6 DOHC 3.0.

I know,in the states they make motors that run for a Long time and other that don't last 3 to 4 years it seems. I'm just wondering where this one falls in the Toyota line.

I was under the impression that Toyota's were V.Reliable. I Remeber seeing a bit on TV a few years ago, where all the oil prospectors out in the deserts will only drive Land Cruisers because nothing else is reliable enough.

Not questioning the reliabilty, I would not have bought one if I had questions there. But I also belive that some lines of there motors are just better then others.

If power was not a issue, but getting there was, what motor would you choose to have in your car?

Has the 3.0 been around for a number of years?

Hi.. yes Toyota engines are reliable...

As for the taxi driver comment... I've never met a taxi driver who i'd trust their judgement..

It depends which engine it is? I know the 2JZ is a 3-litre, but i think that is a straight six (the engine from the Supra)...

What year is your car, and do you know the engine name??

1997 V6 DOHC xle 3.0 in a Camry

1MZ-FE is motor type.
