Hi Everyone.

My wife has just bought an Toyota Aygo Blue 1.0 VVT-i 5dr which comes with the installed bluetooth Handsfree kit.

I have tried to pair her mobile which is a Sony Ericsson W580i but it keeps saying pairing failed. I have made sure Visibility and bluetooth are on. The handsfree kit says pairing in progress but doesnt connect to give a code and after a while fails.

Can anybody help?*

Is there nothing in the manual? With my bluetooth headset you have to put it into discovery mode by holding down both volume buttons together, then the phone will find the bluetooth kit and when you select "pair" and it requests a passcode type in the default passcode, which is normally 0000.

Hope this helps, I am hoping to get an Aygo Blue, if the garage can give me a delivery time! Seems they are like gold dust at the moment!

Hi.

There is nothing in the manual. I believe the manual is for all Aygos and not just for the Blue version.

The built in bluetooth has a button to press which goes through the options but just won't find the mobile. Didnt get a chance to try it today. The phone has a connection to our computers so I might try deleting this out of the mobile in case its causing a problem.

My wife managed to get a ex-demo 57 reg from a Toyota dealer which had just over 2,000 on the clock for £7995 which was a bit cheaper than new and she got it a few days later.

I believe that the manuals for the bluetooth carkit are on the Toyta Tech Doc website:

http://techdoc.toyota-europe.com/

And in general; depeding on the make of carkit you can pair either from the phone or the carkit

or both, if one faisl, try the other.I've got a Sony-Ericsson carkit in mine, which you have to set

"discoverable" from the kit itself and then have to search for from the phone you want to pair with it...

Hi again.

We went into Toyota in Guildford today. They couldn't get our phones to pair. We both have the Sony Ericsson W580i.

He had a Nokia and that connected perfectly so we think its got something to do with our phones. Will have to contact Sony Ericsson to see what we can do or change our phones!

Will also have a look on the Toyota Website.

I think the Aygo Blue's built in handsfree kit is Motorola.

Thanks

I have the Aygo Blue and also the Sony Ericsson W580i, and they paired up fine and have no problems. Toyota York told me the hands free often had problems with Motorola phones pairing up but I don't think its a Motorola device.

I got an owner's manual for the bluetooth, which is a nice little Toyota booklet that was included with the car pack and it explains everything to do with how to work it. Looking through the booklet, the only advice I could spot is make sure all pairings have been removed from both the phones and the hands free and start again. Other then this I'm not sure, shouldn't be a problem with the phone though.

Hope some of this is helpful! :)

Hi.

Thanks for the help.

Have been in touch with Sony Ericsson and they said to try updating the phone using the update service.

I did this which made no difference.

The current software version is CXC1123362 R8BE001 080115.

Its strange because my wife and I both have the same phones, bought at the same time and they both will not connect to the Aygo handsfree kit.

The only other solution is to send the phone to Sony Ericsson who will look at the phone to see if its a fault but I can't see how as the phone connects to our Tomtom and our Apple Mac.

Connections to your TomTom and Mac are data-only, the protocols for handsfree-use are different,

so that one works and the other doesn't isn't really something you can go by...

I have a Sony W880i and had a lot of trouble initially geting it to pair with my Blue.

I changed the phone name to the number 1 and 'hey presto' it worked first time!

Don't know if this will work for yours, but maybe worth giving it a try?

The voice dialling is awesome, but an absolute b@*&%@d to input into the system.

After many attempts to have the system recognise my Scottish accent and finally

recognise a complete phone number correctly this is what happens....

me: "store"

car: "four"

me: "B*@&%$£S!"

:D

Thanks for the info. Gave it a try and it didnt work for me. I think the phones I have just don't want to play. Will have to send them back unless someone else has any options?

Hello again

One more question. My phones are pay as you go. Does that make a difference?

Thanks

I very much doubt it would make any difference, and as long as it has bluetooth connectivity then should be fine. Not sure what are the best compatiable phones, I had a LG chocloate and that paired fine, and now a LG Shine and that paired fine too. They are both however insaley cr*p phones otherwise so cant reccomend them..

hi there

Mine is pay as you go, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Can't think of anything to suggest, hope you get sorted soon. :)

I also have been having problems with my hands free kit, which came with my Avensis. After taking it back to the garage I was told only certain NOKIA N series phones were compatible (N90, N91, N70, N80, N95) and basically tough luck ! After phoning Toyota Customer services they confirmed only certain phones are compatible with their kit but there is nothing they can / will do. I stated if this is the case they should give advance notice of which phones are compatible, all I was advised was to go back to my phone supplier and change my phone ! so the phone company will sort the problem out for Toyota.:angry: This sort of service does not encourage me to buy Toyota again if this is how your treated.

I would advise anybody with pairing issues to download the latest software patches to your phone. We have seen all sorts of pairing issues that are down to the phone and not the bluetooth kit. There have been many standards to bluetooth over the years and it is supposed to be back compatable..........ha! what a load of rubbish that is

I have a Nokia and D/L Nokia suite to my PC, hooked my phone up and it D/Loaded loads of new patches. Give it a try, it has to be easier than changing your phone

Kingo

Hi Everyone!

Its been a while. Finally sent my two Sony Ericcsson W580i phones off to be repaired. I stated that the phones would not pair. I have had one back so far and it still does not pair even though the letter from Sony Ericcsson said it had been repaired.

I will pick my other phone up from the post office and try that one but I don't reckon I will have much joy with that!
