Reverse beep

Although it is always much cause for conversation when i stick the car in reverse i was wondering how you stop the embarassing beep when reversing. For one horrible moment i thought you could hear it outside too. but alas on inside :o

sorry can't give you any help, the only thing I know is that my dealer told me UK dealers can not do it due to legal reason, don't know how true this is, but I've sort of got use to it now.

This is a safety device on Autos so you know your'e not in the wrong gear as the lever layout is sequential. If your car was built with this and it was working when you bought the car you will NOT pass an MOT if you disconnect it. Why do you find it embarrassing, are you really that insecure:D:P. Embarrasing, just a strange choice of words is all!
