1989 Toyota Corolla question

Hello, Could anyone tell me on the water inlet housing, there are 4 hoses on this. I understand the upper radiator hose to thermostate and the big hose from the thermostate housing to the pipe behind the head, but there is 2 bypass hoses out the rear of this housing. Where do they go? I'm rebuilding a basket case and no books show where these hoses run to. They are 5/8 I think. And the only hoses left is the one from the firewall and the one under the intake manifold, i dont have the hoses so its a shot in the dark for me. Any help would be great.
