Supaguard - Is It Worth It?

Good Evening Everyone.

Called over at West Riding Toyota to finalise all the paperwork, ready for collecting my new Blue Aygo on Thursday next week, and the sales person asked me again if I wanted the Supaguard on the paintwork and Scotchguard inside the car when they valet the car. It is going to cost an additional £350, could anyone tell me is it worth it, on average I usually do around 30 miles a week and no motorway driving, I have a child but I don't allow him to eat or drink in either of our cars.

Looking forward to your advices

Regards Madeleine

I asked the very same question 3 months ago when I bought my Platinum (if you look back far enough under the thread - supagard- back in March - this will help you). The majority of the response advised not to waste money on this product. Most of the cost is labour - you can do it yourself for a very small amount - Jeff McCrory can advise you on this - he did a DIY job . I didn't go for it through the dealer, mainly due to the price - IMO it is a total rip off.

They also knocked the price down for the supagard from £350 to £199 if I took out their GAP insurance at £400 (which I later purchased online for £94). I think most replies to your question will advise you to stay away from purchasing supagard through your dealer.

Hope this helps & good luck with youe Aygo Blue - you will love the Aygo experience - welcome to the club.

Hi

Many thanks for your advices. I have looked back and found the previous topic, it really is one of those things that people either love or hate. I will have a really good think about it but dont think I will get it done through the garage. I tried to get them to lower the price of the GAP insurance but they wouldnt budge below £250 so we have gone elsewhere too.

Once again thanks for your help

Regards Madeleine

Supaguard is not just the protection product it is also insurance cover for stains and marks. When/if you do get it done make sure you have proof that it was done correctly. If you ever have to claim because of a stain then you need the paperwork to back it up.
