The Final Alloy Wheel Topic

Yes, there's a search function, but NO topic has the complete spec for alloys that fit on a Yaris. Or just what the hell the numbers mean.

Also, eBay have upgraded their search so using this criteria should net you some kit that fits.

Please DO feel free to correct as necessary as it's merely compiled information from elsewhere on the forum / google.

From what I can gather, alloys MUST be to these spec :

14-16" - 17"/18" will rub arches (this is the size of the outer diameter of the alloy)

ET 35-40 offset (this is the depth between the centre of the wheel on the car of the wheel to the face of the bolting plate - see http://www.matey-matey.com/offset_diagram.gif for more info)

J7 (accepts up to 7" wide tyres but J5 / J6 / J7 should be fine - just bare in mind narrower tyres = less grip)

54 bore - 57 will fit with an adapter (size of the hole in the middle)

100 PCD (Imagine getting a compass, putting it in the centre of the alloy and drawing a circle. Number is in mm so 100 PCD = 100mm; 108 PCD = 108mm. This the governs where the bolts go to hold the alloy to the car.)

Tyres are a bit different. Reading off a standard tyre will result in a code like :

195/45 R 16 82 T - which is a low profile 16" tyre that'll fit on the Yaris.

195 = Width of tread in mm - match this to J. Bare in mind this is in mm and J is in inches

45 = Aspect ratio in % - height of the sidewall divided by the tyre's width. 65/60 tend to be normal tyres ; 45 tend to be low profiles. 14/15" can be standard; 16" can be either; 17/18" look better with low profiles

R = radial

16 = rim diameter in inches - match this to the alloy size you're thinking of

82 = load index

T = speed rating

Feel free to change / update / edit / tell me off as necerssary

offset is 35-45,

17's will fit fine, you'll only get rubbing with lowering the car,
